And You Thought The Walk Across The Mall Parking Lot Was Long
What did you do yesterday? I suspect it wasn’t like this…
Guest contributor and local bad-ass Joel Gaff, Jr. pedaled nearly 170 miles to retrieve his car. Due to circumstances of him being in a running relay race across the mitten, Joel’s car ended up parked in Oscoda, MI and he ended up in Empire, MI. What to do? As he wrote in an email fishing for fellow riders, “hop on my bike and head east to retrieve my car. Am I crazy? Yeah. Am I stoked at the thought of a 170-mile ride across the state? Hell yeah!“

Joel previously wrote on MyWHaT about his commitment to ride his bicycle year-round and use his car as infrequent as possible. It seems, the car-less life lives on. Congratulations Joel!
You can read updates from yesterday’s journey at Joel’s Twitter feed.
This makes the 5 mile bike commute to work seem a lot more doable, doesn’t it? Or, perhaps parking in the parking deck and walking doesn’t seem all that inconvenient anymore?
