Connecting Barlow St. For People, Not Cars

Spotted: Social Trails

JRW sent this shot of a major social trail just off of the TART trail where it crosses the Barlow corridor (map). I pass by this almost everyday and I’ve come accustomed to it. Still, it’s a great opportunity for the city to claim space for prioritizing people walking and biking. It is obviously already used heavily (I use it myself quite often), but it lacks intent, isn’t easily accessible and is eroding quickly. Certainly, there are some issues involving the rights-of-way across the tracks, however, applying a little leadership, will and not that much cash would transform this space.
