Civic lesson: It never hurts to ask for improvements
And, never underestimate the power of a sketch…
I was pleased to read The Ticker headline today: DDA Supports North End Tunnel Improvements (Ticker)
Back in May, some of the DDA board members received this iPad sketch of the direction desired for the project.

At that time, the DDA almost approved a design that was lacking real improvements. It took a little longer and a bit more investment, but it is now set to turn out as more of an attraction. Someone standing a block away might actually be drawn to the infamous tunnel now….good work DDA.

It only hurts the pocketbook. $$$$$ Sometimes at home you need to go with something less expensive for budget reasons.
The improved design doesn’t look that much more expensive to me. I hope the private interests that will benefit (eg, new hotel) are required to kick in though.
