A Poll We Can All Participate In: BLA (Y/N)

May 10, 2011 Leave a comment

Proponents of the proposed Boardman Lake Ave. are petitioning Old Town Neighborhood with the question: ”Are you in favor of building Boardman Lake Ave.?”

I have concerns about the approach, but I might be wrong. It never hurts to ask, right?  So, I’m curious. Are MyWHaT readers in favor?

Results will be shared after the poll closes on Friday.

It Isn’t Just Bike Lanes And It Isn’t Just New York

Video Tuesday

via StreetFilms

Recognizing that the streets have a far greater impact than simply moving people around, New York city is in the process of one of the country’s most extensive street reclamation projects. They are extending and creating places for people to have choices in transportation and to experience the city a bit differently than it has been for the last 50 years.

The video says it all, but I need to add that this isn’t a big city phenomena-making communities more accessible and thus more comfortable, healthy and safe is a primary goal for any community.

Reclaim the streets, beginning with your own.
