I am game! I want 8th street flair too..shirt stickers etc..I 8th could really benefit from traffic calming speed mounds..I saw them in use out west..worked great

I’m in. I walk that way frequently, but as the weather improves, the kids and I will start biking it again (I’m not comfortable with an eight-year old biking the street in its current state so we’ll be illegally using the sidewalks now that they’re clear. ).

When it’s cold, I drive — slow. When it’s nice outside, I ride my scooter (which gets 100+mpg.) 8th street is 98% of my commute between home and the Library (where I work) and I am continually astonished at the sheer number of people who ZIP right past me every time I drive it. Would love stickers for both my scooter and my car. Also, I wouldn’t mind something that would make people crash or, failing that, send them a speeding ticket when they go over 30mph on 8th. Speed bumps are probably out of the question, but I wouldn’t be opposed to traffic cameras which take photos of license plates and mail speeding tickets to the owner like they have in real cities.

I agree. Usage is key! I often walk to work these days because I frequently have a dog in tow. But when I do ride, 8th between Rose and Lake is often my route. I’d be happy to be a bike buddy around 9:45am and 5:15pm. I have also been thinking about devising my own obnoxious signage… but Gary if you come up with something that can be attached to a backpack, I’d gladly wear it. It would be great to have many people sporting the same logo/message on bikes, backs and even cars.

Gary, I am happy to be a 8th st bike buddy, too. And I’d like a shirt and bumper sticker of the 8th st. pledge please- VERY COOL! Thanks for today’s posts. And those 2 wheel riders pics are cool.
